3-5 pages, due before 5 PM on Friday, August 8
We will wrap up the course by asking you to focus on the topics/issues we have covered throughout the semester, including issues that teachers face and how to develop an approach to online environments that will guide you in this line of work.
In developing a teaching philosophy, you’ll need to address your beliefs about teaching and learning in terms of technology. This text should be self-reflective and speak to how you will put your beliefs into practice by including concrete examples of what you do (or will do) in the classroom.
I also want you to engage with our textbook (try not to quote huge passages) and other readings. Where do you fit in this larger conversation about technology in and around the classroom? You may find it useful to look through listservs and special interest groups for information as you formulate your own opinions. Also, googling the phrase “teaching philosophy” will give you links to several websites that contain tips and examples.
NOTE: Due to the nature of this course (teaching writing), I am making an assumption that you plan to teach in some form or fashion. If you do not, let me know, and we will come up with a comparable assignment.
